Last night I watched the newest episode of Legend of the Seeker. I missed the first couple of minutes of it because my wife and I got caught up in a conversations, but the last 55 minutes of it were pretty good. I find myself not trying to compare it with the books quite as much and I’m enjoying it quite a lot more because of it.
I’m glad that they finally had Kahlan tell Richard why they can’t be together, even if it wasn’t really Richard. I’m kinda sad that they excluded Samuel, but I guess he’s not absolutely necessary. Deminn Nass was a bit of a disappointment if they don’t say anything in the future about how terrible he is. He still needs to be disposed of the way he was in the book, but sadly that won’t happen either. If only the show had been picked up by HBO.
This episode was the last before the winter break. The show won’t be back until January 10th with “Denna”. I can’t wait for this episode. I NEED some Mord-Sith action going on in this show. I wonder if they will keep him imprisoned for more than one episode. I doubt it, but I think they should. Maybe if he’s captured right at the beginning of the episode it will be ok.
Season two of the hi-larious web show The Guild premiered the other day. It was sheer awesomeness. It really makes me wish that it could be longer. This season episodes will be airing every week thanks to a new partnership with Xbox Live/MSN. It will be available on MSN Video and through the Xbox Live Marketplace in HD (Xbox just managed to gain a point in my internal struggle over which next gen console to buy).
I like they higher quality of the video with it being on MSN, but what I’m unappy about is the fact that they’ve disabled the embed feature. Otherwise you’d be seeing a shiny video embed right about here instead of a link. If you haven’t already checked it out then go now because it is chock-full-o-awesomeness. Now for a couple of my fav quotes.

Here we have it folks. The battle of the century. Ozzy Osbourne is battling the up-and-coming Lich King for the title of the Prince of Darkness! This will be a no spells barred match on the battlegrounds. Who will emerge victorious?
Alright, enough with the cheese; time for me to explain. There’s a new commercial out for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King featuring Ozzy Osbourne. It is fricken hi-larious! Here it is for your viewing pleasure. It’s only 30 seconds long so watch it a few dozen times because it’s that good.
I confess that in my time I’ve had an unwarranted disdain for a few different actors based on their appeal to teen girls. One of those actors is Brad Pitt. I’d never really seen any of his work and he was idolized by squealing teenagers everywhere so I made up my mind to ignore anything he was in. Then I saw the movie Fight Club and I became cautiously optimistic. I loved that movie. Then I went backward in his filmography and saw Twelve Monkeys and Se7en. From that point on I’ve pretty much been willing to see anything he was in. His performances have always been inspiring. He even took on a fantasy themed role in Meet Joe Black which I loved despite it being incredibly sad.
Now he’s going to be in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and I can’t wait for it to come out. The movie is based on the story by F. Scott Fitzgerald and also stars Cate Blanchett. I haven’t read the story, but it tells the story of a man who ages backwards. Of course it promises to be heart breakingly sad at the end, but at least I know that going in. The movie’s feel reminds me a bit of Big Fish, but obviously not nearly as fantastic.
The movie premieres this Christmas and I expect a great turnout at the theater for it. I know my wife and I will be there. If you’re still on the fence, here’s a trailer to help you decide. This one and another are available on the Apple Trailer Site in HD.
